CEDARVILLE, Ohio - In their final meet of the year at the NCCAA National Championship Meet, the Judson University cross country teams made a good showing. Competing together for the first time, ever, at the meet, the women's team finished 8th of 21 teams while the men were 11th of 28 teams.
Women
8th of 21 teams - 256 points
Kim Peek was the top runner for Judson as she finished in 34th place in the 5K running a 20:03.08. She finished just ahead of teammate Meaghan Gard who came in 35th place at 20:03.47. Kristal Pitts crossed in 53rd (20:38) while Morgan Kimball was 57th (20:42). Finishing in the top 100 were Dianna Clark in 92nd (22:07), Stephanie Belokon in 93rd (22:12), and Cassie Criminger in 96th (22:26). There were 148 overall runners in the meet.
Men
11th of 28 teams - 311 points
Nate Nevius finished 34th with a time of 27:56 in the 8K race and was followed by Robert Altenburger in 50th (28:27). Kyle Julian crossed the finish line next in 66th place (28:56) while Tim Ciochon was 78th (29:14) and Andy Anderson in 97th (29:46) to round out the top five. Matt DeBall came in 108th (30:04) and Ethan Hahn was 136th (31:07). There were 186 runners in the meet.
This completes the third year of the new program at Judson University for cross country.
